ZAKHOROV / FANNI ZAHÁR HU

Instrumentalist, producer, DJ selector

Biography

Zakhorov, aka Fanni Zahár is a Budapest-based producer and instrumentalist whose work draws on over almost two decades of experience across jazz, electronic, folk, and experimental music scenes. As a flutist and saxophonist, she has been involved in numerous projects in Hungary and across Europe, collaborating with artists such as Дeva, Ábáse, Joe Armon-Jones, Mop Mop, Natureboy Flako, Modha and the Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange, Brintex Collective, etc.
As her mission is to integrate her distinctive sound of instrumental playing into a diverse musical palette, her solo project focuses on electronics and organic wind instruments inspired by the Balkan region as well as Afro-and South-American musical traditions creating a raw, energetic, bass-centric soundscape. Her first self-produced album ‘Rasa’ dropped spring 2026.
Alongside her solo instrumental practice, she has curated programs at the House of Hungarian Music, BIRD Rotterdam, and Daad Gathering festival and regularly appears as a DJ in both in the club scene, festivals and radio shows across Europe, such as Fusion Festival, Kantine am Berghain and Operator Radio, to mention a few.
Her DJ sets cover a wide range of genres, from spiritual jazz and afro-funk to polyrhythmic, bass centered non-conventional club music selections, often accompanied by flutes played live.
